Happiness...

summarizes what our first year of marriage has been. "How is married life?" seems to be an automatic question from everyone we bump into, followed immediately by "So when are you going to have a baby?" Or if its coming from my family there is a "because you're not getting younger" added to the end. The answers are as follow:

  • Married life is great! One year in and I have absolutely no regrets, I love my husband as I'm sure he loves me, we'd both do anything to see the other happy. Yes he does drive me mad at times, but that's Matt for you. He will push every button and flash a smile that for some reason makes it all go away and you can't help but love him for it.
  • Children? Yes, we have two and half. Toby is now 5 years old after a couple of visits to the vet this year he is over his cold and appears to be healthy, finally. Our new turtle, Popeye, is very active, much more then our last turtle that Matt ___fill in the blank___. In a few weeks we will be adopting a female boxer, name TBD, our (well, my) concern is that Toby will have a hard time accepting the new puppy. Wish us luck, hopefully all goes well. Predictions for a real baby? 2010 possibly 2011, don't hold us to that these are just our predictions, nothing is set in stone.

These last couple of weeks we've been thinking about all we were doing a year ago this time of the month and we keep thinking about all the people who traveled to make our wedding. We are so thankful to all those who made it down here to share with use on our special day and can't tell you how much it meant to us to have so many friends and family members share in our day. Thanks everyone for making such wonderful memories for us.

Love you all!

Happy New Year!!

Wow! I can't believe my last post was in October, goes to show how busy we all get during the holidays. The followings is a brief summary of the ongoings these last few months.

November -
  • Matt and I hosted our first Thanksgiving day dinner at our home. I have to admit I was somewhat nervous, never having been in charged of the whole day's on goings. Fortunately, everything went well, we had a small gathering of family and we ended the night with a small fire in the back yard.
  • Later the once cool and cheap outdoor chimney purchased in Mexico cracked and had to be replaced. Needless to say the quality was just as poor and so the second one was never used.
December -
  • We spent our first Christmas as husband and wife in Yuma this year. We are planning to rotate holidays, so next year we will be in nice, COLD, snowy Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Did I mention it will be COLD? :o) We went to my parents for Christmas Eve, had dinner, played some pool, and opened gifts with the family. Christmas day we opened gifts at home and then went to breakfast at my parents house and went to a movie.
  • Of course it would not be a break if I did not get sick. I've had a cold since New Years Eve. Needless to say I was not very social :o( But my hubby deserved some time out so we went to my parents for a couple of hours, then we went to the lounge at Cocopah Casino, where we hosted our reception for a drink. Came home and watch the ball go down in Time Square (not live).
  • During our two week break, we had a couple of guest. My cousin Vie, who stayed with us on and off and Matt's sister Lindsay, who visited on our last weekend off. We all went up to Julian, California including Matt's little buddy, Big Al (Alexa).
T hat in a nutshell have been our ongoings for the last two months. HAPPY NEW YEARS to ALL. We hope this coming year we are able to spend more time with family and loved ones, can't wait to see everyone again.

Love,

The Buckleys
YUMA

PS - No Baby for the year 2009, sorry.
